Scattered Hamlet released their new album “Swamp Rebel Machine” on November 4th via Buck Moon Productions. The new album consists of 11 in your face songs. If you like the southern rock feel, you will definitely like this album. The band has been described as “Imagine Stone Cold Steve Austin with his partners Bo and Luke Duke in a parking lot brawl on a Saturday night set to music!” This analogy fits the band perfectly.
Adam Joad’s vocals could easily be described as a mixture of Taime Downs of Faster Pussycat and Steve Summers of Pretty Boy Floyd on apple pie moonshine. The slide guitar solidifies the Southern Rock sound on the album. My personal favorites on the album would have to be White Trash and Stonewall Jackson. I think all of us can relate to White Trash just a little bit, and the whole crowd would get into this one. And Stonewall Jackson, come on…it starts out with the guy saying he would rather watch Dukes of Hazard than getting laid. This song is very catchy and it just grabbed my attention and you could easily see the crowd singing and throwing down to this song.
The song writing on the album has the fuck you, finger in the air, we are here to party lyrics that would make a Scattered Hamlet and Jackyl tour an over the top party I would want to go to. We have seen Scattered Hamlet a couple times at Rocklahoma and rest assured, wherever these guys are, the party is right there with them.
The band is currently on tour promoting their new album. The tour started in Los Angeles, and will wrap up in Louisville, Ky on November 18th.
