Nothing More recently stopped in Oklahoma City at The Diamond Ballroom on their “The Stories We Tell Ourselves” Tour promoting their newest album of the same name. Even though the show was on a Wednesday night, fans still showed up and packed the place.
If you have never seen Nothing More live then shame on you!! You have no idea what you are missing. We have seen them as the first band, playing while the gates were opening, on festival stages, at arena shows, and a couple of their headline shows. They have proven that no matter where they are playing or the size of the stage they are going to give you their all.
The bands stage show is always energy packed and this show was no exception. They played the perfect mix of their hits and added in some of the songs on their new album. One of my favorites is always Mr. MTV and of course Salem. When Mark grabbed the acoustic guitar and Jonny started singing “Just Say When”, I was mesmerized..these guys really can do it all. Jonny said that song almost didn’t make the album, but I want to say kudos for putting it on there. The song is beautiful.
If I could make one suggestion for the set list, at least for their next show here, it would be to add the song “Fat Kid” to the list. I know it is a long shot, and I will probably never hear that song live, but I absolutely love that song. A girl can wish…right?
I may be a little biased in my review of this show, as Nothing More is one of my absolute favorite bands. This was the 8th time I have seen them live. We have been following them for years. The first time we saw them they were a last minute addition to a concert here in Oklahoma City with Buckcherry and Hinder. We chatted with them after the show and said they got the call and said they couldn’t turn that down. And I am glad they didn’t.
Nothing More has wrapped up the first leg of this tour and leave for the European leg from November 22nd through December 14th. It looks like they will take the holidays off and embark on the next leg of the U.S. tour beginning on February 3rd.
