Strüng Announced As Official Sponsor for the fall Wake the Dead Tour feat. Blameshift and The Nearly Deads

IMG 2415

The rock n roll inspired guitar string jewelry brand Strüng recently announced a free contest as part of being the official sponsor for the Wake the Dead Tour feat. Blameshift and The Nearly Deads. The unique music inspired line will be giving away some free product in return for a share of their recent post and a like on Facebook. The company will also have a booth set up at all the tour dates below offering some exclusive products surrounding the tour.

Strüng is a rock n roll inspired jewelry line made from authentic guitar strings and Born in the USA. It was created by real musicians for music lovers. Each unique piece has a song title that inspires a customer to “Find Your Song” when shopping the line.

In July 2014 singer Jenny Mann and Tim Barbour of the rock band Blameshift were touring the country when the idea for Strüng was born. By mid-September they had sold over 2,000 bracelets at their shows. Strüng officially launched as a national brand in July 2016 and is currently in over 100 stores in 4 countries.

There are 27 charm bracelets in the original line with new ones getting added each season. Each charm bracelet has a song title associated with it and is part of a music themed collection which taps into many music genres.

In early 2017 Strüng released a necklace line called, the “Rock Goddess Choker Chord” as well as a unisex Beaded line called, “The Rock Warrior Collection.” The Rock Warrior Beaded Line incorporates the ball ends from a bass guitar and have corresponding song titles more in the hard rock world.

The newest Ü for Men Line, debuting in mid October, is the first adjustable bass guitar string bracelet for men on the market. It will come in silver, black and red.

Strung gives a portion of its profits to support music education for underprivileged children.

Psychostick announces “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour”

The Kings of Comedy Rock PSYCHOSTICK Announce “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour”

The kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK announce they will be embarking on “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour” presented by Zildjian with support from Arsonists Get All The Girls (on select dates), Kissing Candice and Raven Black. The tour will kick off in St. Louis, MO on November 2nd and wrap up in Pittsburgh, PA on December 9th. The band of jokesters have been busy writing new material to exclusively share with fans on this tour to follow their 2014 treasure “Revenge of The Vengeance” that featured tracks of comedy genius such as “Obey The Beard”, “Dogs Like Socks”, “Quack Kills”, “Bruce Campbell” (a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action hero), “NSFW” featuring Bill Manspeaker (founder of Green Jellÿ) plus a spoof cover of Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” among many more.

“Although Zildjian is nearly a 400-year-old company, Alex from Psychostick has not been playing its cymbals exclusively for quite that long (just for the past 10), we are extremely excited that they are sponsoring the tour to celebrate his 10-year anniversary as an endorser. The line up for this tour pretty cool, it’s a great mix and each band offers something memorable. I’d love to watch this show as a fan without all those “got-a-show-to-play” responsibilities. So while I’m backstage doing lame guitar warm up scales, I’ll be imagining how much fun I could be having in the audience watching Arsonists Get All the Girls tear everyone a new asshole, and I’ll live vicariously through the applause and excitement I hear.” says guitarist Joshua “The J” Key.

In addition to the tour, the band like to remind fans that No-Shave November is getting near and to be aware by embracing their hair, which many cancer patients lose and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. They ask fans to share their video “Obey The Beard” with the hashtags #obeythebeard and #noshaveovember and to please donate to

10 Years Confirms Run with Chevelle – (how to live) AS GHOSTS To Be Released Globally on October 27

Tour Leg Commences In Nashville At Marathon Music Works on

November 28 Following Co-Headline Tour With Red

Album Pre-Order Live:

Knoxville, TN — 10 Years has confirmed plans to expand the band’s itinerary with a run as direct support for Chevelle beginning on November 28 at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works.  Throughout September and Early-October, headline dates will be staged, leading in to a co-headline leg with RED that begins on October 17 at Pittsburgh’s Diesel, and wraps up on November 11 in Indianapolis at The Vogue.

The October 27 global release via Mascot Records of the band’s new studio album (how to live) AS GHOSTS welcomes back band members Brian Vodinh (guitar / drums) and Matt Wantland (guitar).  Singer Jesse Hasek reflects, “It’s funny.  I named our last record From Birth to Burial (2015) because I thought it was our final record.  It just didn’t feel like 10 Years without Brian and Matt, and having them back is really a reunion of the core writing team.  This new record actually feels like a real rebirth for the band.”

The lead single, titled “Novacaine,” can be heard here:  Hasek offers, “Six albums and a hundred songs in, I wondered if I’ve already written my best stuff.  But at some point, you start to get real adult problems. You see people go from such optimism in their 20s to having life just beat them down later. I think we all kind of get desensitized and numb to life on some level. That’s what this song is about.”

While Vodinh handled drums and guitar on the new album, he’s switching to just guitar for the live shows, moving Chad Huff from guitar to bass, while Kyle Mayer stays on drums. “We’re bringing it back to the way it should be,” says Vodinh, who left the band due to family commitments in 2013. “It feels great to be back with these guys and we’re in such a good place musically and creatively.”

That better place stems, in part, from a more collaborative writing process. “It used to be that just Jesse and I would write the full song, and the other guys would add a little spice to it. This time, we’re starting the writing process as a full band. Sometimes it starts with a riff. Sometimes it starts with a vocal. Our formula is no formula, and it kind of works. And, we work together in a constructive and healthy environment now,” explains Vodinh.  The result is a dynamic and multi-dimensional 10 Years’ album.  Hasek reflects, “In the past, I’ve written a lot of songs that were pretty ambiguous. But on this record, I’m comfortable being direct and talking about things that are important to me now. I’m older and find myself reflecting on the world more, especially after having traveled the globe.  I’ve crossed paths with a lot of people, and perspectives shared have been enlightening for me as I look at The World, and see what’s going on around me.  With the title track, “(how to live) AS GHOSTS”, was inspired by traveling and seeing all the political, social, and religious turmoil.  It had me thinking about how many people are judging and preparing for death, but are actually missing life. And, instead of using spirituality for good, a lot of people use it to point fingers and judge. Instead of worrying where we end up in the end, we need to focus on the now and the humanity.”

(how to live) AS GHOSTS feels like a new start for the band. There is a brighter side to it that reflects the reality that individually and collectively they are all in a really happy, optimistic, and exciting place about music and life. They share, “We’re ready to see how the world embraces the new album and a rejuvenated 10 Years.”

The Toadies in Oklahoma City 9/7/17

The Toadies are currently on tour in support of their new album “The Lower Side of Uptown”. Local H is joining The Toadies on this tour.  The Oklahoma City show also had our local band The Normandy’s playing.  The Toadies played a mix of their classics, while also giving a taste of the songs off the new album.

The new album “The Lower Side of Uptown” released on September 8th.  My favorite song on the album is “Take Me Alive”.  It has a very groovy, and catchy feel to it.  I also really like “Human Cannonball” and “Broke Down Stupid”.  They did an absolutely amazing cover of the song “I Put a Spell On You” that you have to check out as well.

IMG_2507 IMG_2484 IMG_2479 IMG_2455 IMG_2446

The Lower Side Of Uptown” is a ‘return to form’ as explained by frontman Vaden Todd Lewis: “This album is ‘roots Toadies, full of riffs and time shifts.’ “The Lower Side Of Uptown” is the follow up to 2015’s Heretics which saw the band taking a change of pace with a stripped down sound and mostly acoustic. When they were preparing to enter the studio this time around there was no set idea for what was to come but, the process ultimately had the band going back to their signature sound: “I feel that subconsciously we thought that this record would have ended up incorporating some of that quieter sound, but that didn’t happen. When we got to the studio with nothing more than a pile of riffs, what came out of the band was really loud and heavy music. So not only is this album louder than Heretics, I think it’s louder and heavier than the last couple Toadies albums” guitarist Clark Vogeler said of the sessions, which were recorded Arlyn Studioa favorite of the legendary Willie Nelson, and The Bubble in Austin.
