Locust Grove 03/26/16

Zain Smith

Vincent Charles Lindstrom

Quentin Williams

Joey Mandigo

For months my family and I have anxiously awaited March 26th. This was when we would finally get to see Locust Grove’s debut show at the Diamond Ballroom.

I had a real good idea of what to expect, after all each member of this band is no stranger to the music scene on Oklahoma.

From the moment they walked on stage with the confidence of seasoned musicians my heart was pounding and I couldn’t get the stupid smile off of my face!

And my hat is off to Zain, originally known for his guitar playing in Anti-Mortem, he is not only playing guitar but has taken on the lead vocals duty as well.  And I must say did an awesome job at both.

I’m familiar with Vince from Siva Addiction and of course Zain from Anti-Mortem, But Quentin and Joey were new to me and I had no idea what to expect.  After seeing them, they were the perfect choice for this band that I guarantee you will be hearing a lot about in the near future, I mean what band lands on the Rocklahoma roster before they have even played a single show?  Locust Grove that’s who!

These guys took their time and made sure they did it right. Lots of practice and songwriting sessions went into the preparation for this night. When they start touring, make sure you check them out. If energy packed, in your face music is what you want, that is exactly what you’ll get.

Wildways new album “Into the Wild”

Artery Recordings artist Wildways are set to release their new album “Into The Wild” on March 25th, 2016.  Wildways signed with Artery Recordings in January of 2016, and in early February they released their video for their song “Faka Faka Yeah”.  The band consists of: Toli – vox, Sergey – guitar, Chocoslayc – guitar, Harry – bass, and Kery – drums.

The album begin with the song “Skins”.  This song is a great way to start the album.  It begins with a melodic, instrumental intro, which lulls you into submission, and immediately grabs you by the throat and makes you pay attention.  This song alone shows you that this album is not going to be boring.  It is very difficult to fit this band into a definite genre, as they have such diversity on this album.  When you hear the second track on the album called “3 Seconds To Go”, it kicks you in the teeth and rocks hard.  Then you hear track 11 “Wings”, and it is what I would dare to say is a ballad.  Personally, my two favorite tracks on this album are “Princess”, which also contains beautiful guest female vocals, and “Slow Motion”, which flows so well, and has a groovy feel for me at the beginning of the chorus.  There is not a bad song on this album.  Even my least favorite song, “Faka Faka Yeah”, is still very catchy.

Wildways gives you a very balanced mix of vocals, growling, rapping, with a hint of techno.  They have accomplished the blending of these different sounds and turned it into something that is very good to the ears.  This album is enjoyable from beginning to end.

Head over to their website to check out tour dates, links to their social media pages, and their merch store to order all things Wildways.  Their album will be available on ITunes, Google Play, Amazon MP3, and MerchNow.  Get over and get this album!!!

  1. Skins
  2. 3 Seconds To Go
  3. Faka Faka Yeah
  4. Sirens
  5. What You Feel
  6. Slow Motion
  7. D.O.I.T.
  8. Princess
  9. Don’t Give Up Your Guns
  10. Illusions & Mirrors

Nightwish in Oklahoma City at the Diamond Ballroom

Mere words cannot describe the experience I recently had when I attended the Nightwish show with special guests Sonata Arctica and Delain in Oklahoma City at the Diamond Ballroom.  I will admit I have not seen any of these three bands live.  I have been missing out!!  These three bands together make up the perfect tour.  They perfectly accompany each other.

Nightwish has a sound that is so beautiful.  It is a larger and grand sound that I feel is so rare and very much unlike the newer music being released by a majority of bands now a days.  This band still completely built on pure talent and love of the music and it shows.  Please get out and see them if they are on tour near you.  This was an absolutely amazing and inspiring experience.  Check out their website for tour dates, and links to their social media sites, fan clubs, partners, and endorsers at
